Powertrain: Throttle Bodies Solution

Throttle bodies in modern engines are challenging applications and a critical piece of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine. During the last couple of years, temperatures during the control of the air intake into the engine increased significantly. Saint-Gobain Seals’ injection-molded, high precision Meldin® VP bearings provide a perfect fit with tolerances less than 30 µm, allowing higher thermal expansions and the use of lightweight materials. Tailored materials for low wear against aluminium are the base for freedom on designing next generation throttle bodies to ensure that the engine runs smoothly and there is no stall or high idle.
