Low Friction Lip Seals for Park Lock Applications

Efficient control and fast positioning time. Rulon® materials are known for ultra low friction and drag loss enabling a very fast, accurate and reliable movement in rotational and linear direction. The actuation benefits from excellent response characteristics and low variance in fit and tolerance over lifetime of park lock systems in vehicles.

Allows effective system design at lower weight. The material memory effect combined with the flexibility of Rulon® ensures an ultra low and constant leakage of the seal. The low breakaway force and friction allows for a downsizing of the actuator drive for the OEM which result in higher efficiency and smaller components with lower costs overall.

The low actuation force directly impacts in lower energy usage and is proven to operate over the lifetime of the vehicle. This makes our solution suitable for limited energy supply in hybrid and electric vehicles.

Low cost alternative to machined seals. Besides performance our low friction lip seals generate the possibility for cost reduction, especially for medium and high volume demand, giving the same or better properties than machined polymer seals.
